Possession proceedings

There sometimes comes a stage in a landlord / tenant relationship when the landlord requires the property to be returned to them. This can sometimes be because of a change in the landlord’s situation (e.g. where they require the property back to live in it or to sell), or sometimes it can be as a result of a breakdown in the relationship between the landlord and tenant. For example, the tenant may have accrued rent arrears or breached other terms of the tenancy agreement.

There are processes involving service of notices and court proceedings which must be followed in order to obtain possession of a residential property. Our property disputes team may be able to offer a fixed fee for these services.

If you require advice about possession proceedings, we advise that you contact our property disputes team before to taking any further steps.
