Termination of leases

Landlords and tenants may wish to effect (or resist) the termination of a lease from time to time, for various commercial and practical reasons. Our dispute resolution team works closely alongside our commercial property department to ensure that clients’ needs are met.

We advise landlords and tenants in respect of:

  • Forfeiture – Termination of the lease by peaceable re-entry
  • Break Clauses – Provisions in the lease which allow for the parties to break the term on a particular date
  • Termination by either party under sections 25 to 27 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
