Termination of leases

Landlords and tenants may wish to effect (or resist) the termination of a lease from time to time, for various commercial and practical reasons. Our dispute resolution team works closely alongside our commercial property department to ensure that clients’ needs are met.

We advise landlords and tenants in respect of:

  • Forfeiture – Termination of the lease by peaceable re-entry
  • Break Clauses – Provisions in the lease which allow for the parties to break the term on a particular date
  • Termination by either party under sections 25 to 27 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954

What can our commercial property disputes solicitors do for you?

Our commercial property litigation team advises both landlords and tenants on a range of matters. We work with all types of businesses including construction companies, developers, professional landlords, restaurants and retail businesses.

Our property disputes solicitors work closely with our property, commercial, licensing, debt recovery and commercial litigation teams to allow us to provide our clients a full service.
