Victims of assault - criminal injury solicitors in Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, Manchester and London

Most people are aware that victims of an assault are able to pursue criminal charges against the offender. However, did you know that a victim can also receive compensation for their injuries?

Criminal injury - who can claim?

If you have sustained injuries as the result of a criminal attack, you may be eligible to claim damages for the pain and suffering the incident caused. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) awards financial sums to victims if their injuries meet the criteria set out in their tariff.

NOTE: Unlike with normal personal injury claims, you only have two years in which to submit your claim to the CICA from the date the incident is first reported to the police.

How we can help?

Our solicitors have extensive experience of handling criminal injury claims sensitively and efficiently for our clients. If you have been the unfortunate victim of an assault, whether it be physical or psychological, we strongly recommend you contact us. We offer a free 30 minute consultation in which we can consider your case and advise you on your options.
