What is a trust?

A trust is a way of managing money or other belongings for people. Trusts can be set up in a will to begin after your death, or separately to deal with assets while you are living. Some examples include:

  • It is common to set up trusts in a will if you are leaving assets to someone too young or unable to deal with their affairs.
  • Trusts can be used to protect your assets from future nursing home fees or inheritance tax.
  • If someone is unable to handle their affairs, a trust can be used to look after their assets.

Where possible we like to meet our clients face to face (either at one of our offices or at your home if you prefer). Alternatively, we can conduct meetings via Skype.
