| How can our Wills and Probate solicitors help you?

If you are considering planning for the future, making a will is a good step to take. In your will, you can decide who will receive your money and belongings (known as your ‘estate’) after you die. You would also nominate someone to deal with the process of administering your estate. These people are known as ‘executors’.

If you have children, you can provide for them in your will. For example, you can set out who you would like to look after them after your death; and/or who will look after any assets on their behalf until they are old enough.

Making a will can provide you with the peace of mind that, after you are gone, your loved ones will be taken care of, and your wishes will be clear.

We charge a fixed fee for our standard wills. Details of our wills costs are on our pricing page.

If you already have a will in place, we offer a free will review service. We will consider your existing will and advise whether you need to consider updating it.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

Making a Lasting Power of Attorney (‘LPA’) is a way of making sure that you are prepared in case you are ill, injured, or lose mental capacity in the future.

In your LPA, you would nominate people (your attorneys) to look after your finances and / or make important decisions about your health and wellbeing on your behalf if you do become ill or injured.

We charge a straightforward fixed fee to make Lasting Powers of Attorney. We also offer a 10% discount if you make your LPA at the same time as your will.

Administration of Estates / Probate

Losing a loved one can be an extremely difficult time. And that’s before considering dealing with the practicalities. Our probate solicitors will work to ease the burden, dealing with the estate promptly and sensitively.

The process of dealing with someone’s estate after their death is known as ‘administration’ of the estate. If the person left a will, you may need to obtain a grant of probate. After that, there is the

process of collecting the person’s belongings, information about bank accounts and other assets, and then distributing the assets in accordance with the will.

Our wills and probate solicitors can offer you as much advice and assistance as you would like. For example, you may wish to instruct us just to obtain the grant of probate. In other circumstances, we could deal with everything from the grant of probate, to collecting the assets up and sorting any Inheritance Tax liability.

We offer a range of fixed fees for our probate work. Details of our fixed fees are on our probate pricing page. If you don’t see a fixed fee for the work that you would like us to carry out, contact us and we will put a quote together for you.
