What’s going on?
This month has seen a further update to the CPR announced.
The Civil Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2016 will, in the main, came into force on 6 April 2016 after being laid before Parliament on 25 February 2016.
What has changed?
The changes to the CPR include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Amendments to the costs management provisions in Section II of CPR 3. Now included are provisions concerning ‘budget discussion reports’ and revised versions of Precedent H. A new Precedent R has been prepared for the documenting of budget discussions.
- Changes have been made to Section I of CPR 73 (Charging Orders) and a new CPR 89 has arrived concerning Attachments of Earnings. Important to note is that these changes will only impact applications made on or after 6 April 2016.
- Minor changes have been made to PD4 (court forms).
- Changes have also been made to Practice Direction 52C, concerning the provision of documents to people reporting on a case.
