We are extremely proud to announce we are a direct sponsor for the second year for Chanelle Rushforth, who plays rugby for Barnsley Ladies. Having completed her training contract with us earlier this month, Chanelle is now a solicitor in our conveyancing department.
Barnsley Ladies were established in 2014, by a group of women who had played junior rugby at Shaw Lane Rugby Club. Following their time playing friendlies, entering their first league, and moving on to a triple promotion, they found themselves promoted to Championship Rugby in 2018, one league below the Women’s Premiership. They played Buckingham Swans on 23 September at home, winning 21-19, with Chanelle scoring a try!
Chanelle plays in the forwards, either as a Second Row, Flanker or 8. She has been playing since she was 15 at both club, county level and whilst at university.
Chanelle says, “I love playing as part of a team – the competitiveness and the camaraderie make me feel like I’m part of something that matters, and the training and discipline required is very therapeutic – a real stress reliever!”
