This weekend, a team of 11 from Levi and their friends and family joined with around 450 walkers for the Sunset Walk for St Gemma’s Hospice.
The Sunset Walk is a 5km walk around Temple Newsam, raising money for St Gemma’s. But it is also set up to allow for people to remember loved ones who they have lost. Quiet reflection areas were set up around the route, but the mood overall was celebratory.
Even though the rain started just before the walk began, the atmosphere was cheerful. A bit of rain won’t stop Team Levi!
Residential property partner, Gillian Sandford walked in memory of her son Joe, and said, “a short walk in the rain is a small price to pay to help others”.
St Gemma’s Hospice is based near our offices in Moortown, north Leeds. They provide expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. They offer care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through their community team and via Out-Patients.
We are proud to have supported the Hospice over the years, and that they are one of our 90th birthday year charities of the year. This year we are also volunteering and fundraising for Yorkshire Children’s Charity and Homeless Street Angels.
