The team at Levi Solicitors embarked on a month-long charity challenge throughout September. The challenge saw 28 colleagues walking, running, cycling, stepping and clocking up a total of 1,504 MILES throughout September in aid of Andy’s Man Club.
With suicide rates soaring in the UK, and the bulk of those being male, it’s never been a better time to support a charity like Andy’s Man Club.
| How did we get on?
We asked some of our colleagues why they took part in this challenge.
Navjit Degun said: “Throughout September I walked and ran a total of 89 miles to help raise awareness for Andy’s Man Club. It is a great charity who do amazing work and is very close to my heart ever since I lost my own brother to suicide in September 2021.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated.”
Janet Babington commented: “I love a challenge. It’s a really good cause and I needed a bit of kick start on my further fitness journey.”
Julie Thornton said: “I took part to highlight the work of Andy’s Man Club. Not all men are aware of the service they provide, and men do need to know that there is support out there.”
Ruth Jago added: “I have struggled with my mental health at times. And there are a few things that help me. Two of them are talking about it and clearing my head with a walk. So, this seemed like the perfect challenge. I got to exercise and clear my head, while raising money and awareness to help Andy’s Man Club help get men talking about how they feel. It’s okay to talk.”
Lisa Stockdale said: “If this raises awareness and helps someone overcome what they are currently feeling and to know that one day that feeling won’t be there any longer, then it is 100% worth walking a few miles – such a worthy cause.”
You can still donate to the team’s challenge here and help us all make a difference and shout about the fact that #ItsOkayToTalk.
