The team at Levi Solicitors embark on a month-long charity challenge throughout September.
The challenge will see 26 colleagues walking, running, cycling and finding other ways to reach their goal of clocking up 89 miles before the end of September.
We have picked 89 miles to celebrate 89 years in business and the money raised will go towards supporting ANDYSMANCLUB.
With suicide rates soaring in the UK, and the bulk of those being male, it’s never been a better time to support a charity like ANDYSMANCLUB.
We asked some of our colleagues why they are taking part in this challenge.
Navjit Degun, Commercial Property Solicitor said: “Throughout the month of September I will be walking/running a total of 89 miles to help raise awareness for ANDYSMANCLUB. It is a great charity who do amazing work and is very close to my heart ever since I lost my own brother to suicide in September 2021.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated.”
Janet Babington, Practice Manager commented: “I am taking part because I love a challenge, it’s a really good cause. And I need a bit of kick start on my further fitness journey!”
Julie Thornton, Private Client Paralegal said: “I’m taking part to highlight the awareness of ANDYSMANCLUB. Not all men are aware of the service they provide, and men do need to know that there is support out there.”
Ruth Jago, Marketing Manager added: “I have struggled with my mental health at times. And there are a few things that help me. Two of them are talking about it and clearing my head with a walk. So this seemed like the perfect challenge. I get to exercise and clear my head, while raising money and awareness to help ANDYSMANCLUB help get men talking about how they feel. It’s okay to talk.
Also, I am extremely competitive, and I want to get there faster than all the other walkers!”
Lisa Stockdale, PA said: “If by taking part in this challenge and raising money, it raises awareness and helps someone overcome what they are currently feeling and to know that one day that feeling won’t be there any longer, then it is 100% worth my arthritic knees walking a few miles! Such a worthy cause. Bring it on!”
You can donate to the team’s challenge on our Justgiving page and help us all make a difference and shout about the fact that #ItsOkayToTalk #89Miles.
