Last year we partnered with St Gemma’s Hospice as our charity of the year. Throughout 2017, Levi Solicitors’ staff participated in a range of fundraising activities and events throughout the year.
Fundraising
Everyone took part in activities which varied from organised raffles to general office fundraising. In October our managing partner, Steven Newdall took part in Jail & Bail. He was ‘arrested’ at our offices, put on trial and imprisoned in the cells below Leeds Town Hall for his crimes against hoarding. We raised a total of £525.00 which acted as Steven’s ‘bail’ money.
Our firm also took part in the St Gemma’s Make a Will Month during October. For the duration of the month, we offered free will writing services in exchange for a donation to the charity.
The staff got into their festive spirits in December and took part in Wear it Festive. We saw all sorts of Christmas jumpers and themed costumes, including a Christmas tree outfit! We raised £72.50 during the festive day.
All the staff at Levi Solicitors thoroughly enjoyed fundraising throughout the year. In total, the firm raised £1,147.29 for St Gemma’s Hospice. The money raised will be used to provide their in-patient’s with specialist palliative care. It will also help cover the cost of medicine, different therapies and food. Furthermore, the money will help fund Clinical Nurse Specialists visit patients in their own homes and offer physical, emotional and spiritual support to those in need. Other vital professionals that work with St Gemma’s include physiotherapists and a spiritual care team.
We are thrilled that we were able to work with such a wonderful charity in 2017. The level of care and work provided by St Gemma’s Hospice for local people suffering from life-threatening illnesses is incredible. Levi Solicitors are proud to have been part of it in 2017.
