Alex Newman, who is the firms head of Risk & Compliance passed the Risk and Compliance Advanced Accreditation Exam on its first release date, making the firm one of a small number of firms in the UK to have the accreditation.
The Risk and Compliance Advanced (Legal Practice) Accreditation is a quality standard for managing risk and compliance in a legal practice and goes a long way to showing a firm’s commitment to its smooth and effective operation. The Accreditation is an independent objective mark for those who can demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and competency in the field of legal risk management, compliance and AML. Covering topics including Data protection, Fraud and bribery and Cybercrime, the Accreditation is an advanced-level examination targeted at those who have expertise in Legal Practice Management.
Alex commented: “Managing risk empowers the practice allowing us to identify and mitigate potential risks…and this accreditation allows us to assure our clients that we are a firm that takes risk and compliance very seriously.”
Steven Newdall, Managing Partner added: “We treat compliance as a priority for the firm and working with Alex has allowed us to create a culture of compliance across the business.”
Alex was also a finalist in the British Conveyancing Awards earlier this year in the Risk & Compliance Champion category.
