Government announces proposed employment law changes

We saw a raft of changes announced by the Government this week that may have significant consequences for employers and employees around:

  • post-termination restrictive covenants;
  • working time regulations;
  • TUPE; and
  • holiday entitlements / rolled-up holiday pay.

The government’s policy paper on Smarter Regulation to Grow the Economy has given us an insight of how it plans to reform employment law post-Brexit.

Next steps for employers?

The Government has said the legislation will be introduced “when Parliamentary time allows”.
