MND Association

Levi Solicitors’ Practice Manager, Janet Babington, conquered the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 7 August.

Inspired by Leeds rugby league legend, Rob Burrow, Janet and some friends signed up to climb the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association). Their aim was to raise £1,260 between them, and complete the walk in under 12 hours.

Yorkshire Three Peaks

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a demanding 24-mile trail, taking hikers to the summits of Yorkshire’s highest peaks; Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). It is a circular route starting and ending in Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

MND Association

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. It kills a third of people within a year, and more than half within two years of diagnosis. Former Leeds Rhinos star, Rob Burrow, was diagnosed with MND in December 2019. He has since worked hard to raise awareness of MND and the work of the MND Association. Indeed, he is now a Patron of the Association.

The MND Association works to improve care and support for people with MND. They fund research with the aim of bringing us closer to a cure for MND. They also campaign and raise awareness of MND. For more information on MND and the work of the MND Association, visit their website.

Janet’s three peaks challenge

Janet and her team braved the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on a wet and windy Saturday, with around 80 other walkers. They completed the walk in 10 hours 13 minutes, and to date have raised a huge £2,349 – almost doubling their original target!

Congratulations to Janet and her team from all of us at Levi.
